30.03.07 - The Consultation for this document is now closed.
The overall vision for the ChangeUp programme is to see a transformed voluntary and community sector.
Capacitybuilders wants to hear the views of the third sector, particularly on the priorities it should adopt to meet its vision and strategic objectives for 2014.
These priorities are laid out in the consultation document ‘Destination 2014’. Printed copies of this are available from Capacitybuilders by phone or email or you can read and download from this consultation website www.destination2014.org.uk. You can also feed your comments into the consultation via this website.
Consultation on this document is vital for us in developing the route to achieve our vision for the ChangeUp programme. We would be grateful if you could take some time in reading the ‘Destination 2014’ document and in answering the questions.
We would of course also like to hear your views on any part of the document. You can also:
- email to info@capacitybuilders.org.uk or
- respond by post to: Capacitybuilders, Consultation, 77 Paradise Circus, Birmingham. B1 2DT.
The consultation runs from 7th December 2006 to 30th March 2007.

missed consultation deadline, sorry, but feel I must ask: does the 'VCS' under 'specific activities' include social enterprise, and if so it really ought to be referred to as 'third sector'. Also, it would be good to have acknowledgement of the role that national support bodies for sub-sectors of social enterprise have in enabling many VCS orgs to create social enterprises (e.g. DTA, Social Firms UK) - for example many of our members are organisations in the VCS but looking to create enterprise in order to achieve their social missions (in our case job creation for severely disadvantaged people). Rather than re-invent the wheel, generally better to use the expertise and resources/tools that already exist.
Thanks, and sorry if this is all too late to be taken into account!
Kind Regards
Sally Reynolds - Chief Executive, Social Firms UK
